Thanks to a glitch, Final Fantasy XV's second continent is now more than just eye candy.

An intrepid Final Fantasy XV player managed to glitch their way onto the game's second continent, Niflheim, which is a mostly-incomplete but beautiful collection of environments. The area is home to the game's more linear segment, and although Niflheim is viewable at times, it is unreachable.

YouTuber Fotm Hero managed to glitch out of Cartanica and onto the sprawling world of Niflheim, showcasing all of it for your enjoyment. Niflheim has a snowy tundra area, an area that looks like a savannah, and a desert-like area.

Fotm Hero noted that "only the area around Cartanica is fully loaded, that's why it's well detailed compared to the rest. To access the other zones, I had to avoid an infinite loading screen, so those areas aren't loaded."

Some are speculating that the explorable area on Niflheim is scrapped content that was intended to be playable at some point, or may be playable in future DLC. One of the game's characters falls into the area, so perhaps we'll get to see things from that point of view.

There is no way to know for sure right now, but the mostly-vacant area is definitely not supposed to be reachable right now.
