Andrew Bird premiered a duet with Fiona Apple, "Left Handed Kisses," off his forthcoming album, Are You Serious. It's out on April Fool's Day, of course.
"My inclination was to write a song about why I can't write a simple love song," explained Bird in a press release.
So he brought in the queen of convoluted emotions in for a duet -- Apple did, after all, once briefly marry a French photographer, "for complicated reasons."
"I needed to find someone really indicting," he said. "She was totally committed. The session was a long whiskey-fueled night - unhinged, for sure."
