Threatening kids with their Christmas gifts in an attempt to get them to behave is an age-old holiday tradition. Some threaten their young ones with coal, others rely on Elf on the Shelf, but YouTuber Scotty B took things to a whole new level.

After getting a bit of lip from his kids who weren't listening, the father decided to enact his preplanned Christmas lesson. He asks his daughter to retrieve one of their gifts underneath the tree, but instead of letting the kids open the gift, the father throws it into the fireplace instead.

After a good cry and a phone call to mom, Scotty reveals that the present was just an empty box, but his daughter gets in the last word.

"I'm still telling my friends on you," the girl says.
