One of the many lessons horror has taught us is that abandoned kids' play areas – especially ones featuring large animatronic animals – are strictly no-go areas. People just won't listen, though.

In the second trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's, a group of kids break into the restaurant only to find themselves face-to-face with its bloodthirsty mascots. Elsewhere we see more of security guard Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson) arriving for his night shift with his younger sister Abby (Piper Rubio) and chatting with local police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) about the restaurant's creepy inhabitants.

Based on the viral video game series, Five Nights at Freddy's also stars Matthew Lillard, Mary Stuart Masterson, Kevin Foster and Kat Conner Sterling.

Five Nights at Freddy's hits theaters and Peacock Oct. 27.
