It took two decades but Friends’ theme song, "I'll be there for you" by the Rembrandts finally has an Indian rendition that truly taps the mysterious melodies classical Indian music is known for.

Indian musician Mahesh Raghavan has earned a name giving popular Western songs a local spin. And after numerous requests from people, he finally delighted Friends’ fans this week. The recreated version of the song taps the piano, tabla, sitar, drum and a range of other instruments that sit at the heart of Indian music. Intriguely, the song has been put together using an iPad and a range of select apps, giving people a reason to pick up their tablets more often. The apps used by Raghavan are Geo Shred, and Finger Fiddle. If you liked the video, you will also want to check Raghavan’s take on David Arnold and Michael Price’s BBC Sherlock theme, and Game of Thrones’ tune, below.
