Winterfell is a snow-filled ruin.

The latest teaser for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, titled "Aftermath," gives an ominous look at what appears to be the aftermath of a battle at Winterfell. Vacant of human life, snow is piling up in the home of the Starks as we see wreckage and weapons laying about, including the golden hand of Jaime Lannister and Jon Snow's sword.

Right at the end, though, lingering about Snow's sword in the castle gate, is a shadowy figure. Judging by the weather, it's plausible that this is the Night King.

Whether this is an omen of what's to come or just nonsensical hype, dark times lay ahead.

Game of Thrones returns April 14.
