How could Game of Thrones ever top the Battle of the Bastards (B.O.B.)? As we know, they did just that on Sunday night with the Battle That Shall Not Be Named (especially since that name is, apparently, officially "Loot Train Attack").
"What if somebody had an F-16 that they brought to a medieval battle?" showrunner David Benioff asks in a behind-the-scenes video.
The featurette goes into how that final battle came together, from the charred, ashy look of the land as Drogon attacks the Lannister army to the camera work on the encroaching Dothraki soldiers.
Season 6 contained 11 total shots of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) riding a dragon; in contrast, this battle sequence alone had 80, and they made quite the impression. Trained riders practiced riding the Dothraki horses while standing and camera crews worked with CGI to marry the visual feats needed to complete many of these sequences.
