Last night's episode of Game of Thrones was undeniably a shocker, but among the appalling moments was a really intense scene featuring Dany and Jon.

Following the death of Viserion, Daenerys is heartbroken, but when she sees Jon Snow returning on the back of Coldhands' horse she looks visibly relieved.

"I think it's a big moment for her in terms of the way she feels about him," David Benioff, GoT executive producer and writer says during the "Inside the Episode video". "I think neither of them really knew exactly how powerful their feelings were towards each other until this moment."

It's incredibly sad, as Jon and Daenerys' mutual attraction develops as the Mother of Dragons suffers the loss of one of her children. She's in a lot of pain. And Jon Snow clearly feels responsible for that. "I'm sorry," he says, holding her hand.

"The dragons are my children, they're the only children I'll ever have," Dany replies.

"Just the notion of falling for someone, that involves weakness and it's not something a queen does but she feels that happening and he feels that happening for her," Benioff added. "I think both of them are on kind of unfamiliar ground and especially because it's with an equal."
