We all know the internet loves a good meme. Hulu’s latest trailer for its horror thriller Grimcutty plays on an internet character gone wrong, promising a 21st-century creature-feature of a trend turned catastrophe.

When “Grimcutty” starts going viral in a small town, mass panic ensues by parents who are convinced that the trend is coercing their kids into harming themselves and others. Asha Chaudry (Sara Wolfkind) soon starts seeing a real-life Grimcutty in her home, and everything begins spiraling out of control. Kids are pitted against their parents, friends against each other, and the entire town descends into a bloodbath for survival against a meme come to life.

It seems that Hulu took those "retweet this picture in five seconds or else it’ll haunt you" posts a little too seriously.

Grimcutty premieres on Hulu Oct. 10.
