Who knew Baby Groot's dance moves could help save the world?

OK, so that might be a bit of an exaggeration. But Marvel's #GrootDancebomb challenge does put the Guardian of the Galaxy's skills to good use restoring the forest, in celebration of Earth month. (Earth is part of the galaxy, after all.)

And in the process, it also gives Disney a chance to show off some of their new Dancing Groot toys and unveil a new song from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack.

YouTube star D-trix explains it all in the video above, but basically, it works like this: fans are invited to post their own #GrootDancebomb, or simply like or share the video above. For each action from April 18 - May 5, the Disney Conservation Fund will put money toward The Nature Conservancy to plant one tree (up to 250,000 trees total).

As you may have noticed, the video above is set to Parliament's "Flashlight," which is featured in the film. You can probably expect to hear it when Awesome Mix Vol. 2 (a.k.a. the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack) hits shelves – on April 28, as announced by director James Gunn last week.

The #GrootDancebomb challenge clip additionally includes a glimpse at the toy lineup for Vol. 2, with items from Hasbro, Funko, Jakkx Pacific, and KIDdesigns. All are available in stores now except for the Dancing Groot Speaker, seen at the beginning of the video – that one will be on sale June 10.

TL;DR version: watch and share the #GrootDancebomb challenge video above to help Disney planet some trees; ooh and ahh over the cute toys on display; and rock out to a Parliament tune from the film.

And then, if all this has sold you on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, check it out when it's in theaters May 5.
