Marvel loves to slip surprise cameos and Easter eggs into its movies. Why should its soundtracks be any different?

Awesome Mix Vol. 2 (i.e., the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 soundtrack) features all the classic rock tunes you'd expect from this franchise, including tunes by Fleetwood Mac, George Harrison, and Looking Glass.

But it also includes an original song written just for the movie by director James Gunn and composer Tyler Bates. "Guardians Inferno" is performed by the Sneepers (named after an obscure alien race in the Marvel comics) and features David Hasselhoff rapping. Yes, really.

To be fair, the choice to include Hasselhoff isn't totally out of the blue. It's established in the movies that the Hoff is one of Star-Lord's childhood heroes.

But that colorful mix of quirky, retro, and totally unexpected – that's peak Guardians right there.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in theaters May 5. Awesome Mix Vol. 2 hits shelves (digital or otherwise) on April 21.
