After a stint traveling with the God of Thunder himself, the Guardians of the Galaxy are back on their usual beat: saving the galaxy, their way.

This time, though, the team — Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), and Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) — seems to be reckoning with more angst than usual. In the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, we see flashes of tragic backstories, including Rocket's, setting us up for what will surely be an emotional ride.

We also get a glimpse of Will Poulter as villain Adam Warlock, and it looks like Gamora's (Zoe Saldaña) back too! We can't wait to see how this plays out — and what bangers will be on the film's soundtrack.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 is in theaters May 3, 2023.
