Taking this coaster like a champ is the least impressive part of this video.
In the clip, Youtube user SirSammy 15 rides PortAventura's Shambhala roller coaster in Tarragona, Spain. While being whiplashed through its massive peaks and drops, he notices something strange. Soon enough an object comes his way, and reaching out to grab it, he catches an iPhone X dropped by a rider on the coaster ahead of him.
The catch is so spontaneous that if you blink you might miss it. It seems miraculous that he was able to react so quickly, especially in a setting that most people find wildly overwhelming. But watch the background melt away as SirSammy celebrates his catch with those around him, as if the group isn't flying through the air.
Shambhala was only recently dethroned as Europe's tallest and fastest hyper coaster when Hyperion opened in Poland in 2018. Riding at speeds over 80 mph, SirSammy might have a future in baseball if he can replicate catches like this.
