Harrison Ford jokes to potential Han Solo actors: 'Don't do it'

A hairy, monosyllabic relic of the Star Wars universe appears on Ellen on Monday, as does Chewbacca. On the show, Harrison Ford speaks to Ellen DeGeneres about Star Wars and Disney casting search for the new Han Solo.

"It's worse than that," Ford tells DeGeneres. "It's a young Han Solo."

His advice to the short list of aspiring actors? "Don't do it."

But his reasoning isn't what you think it'll be: "First, it seems like everything's going swimmingly. And you put in 25-30 years, and then they just let you go."

Job security just isn't what it used to be.
