The first trailer of the highly anticipated second season of HBO's House of the Dragon has finally premiered and it is stunning. It promises a bloody war between family and friends for control of the Iron Throne — in what will be the platforms' biggest show of 2024.

The newest season of the Game of Thrones prequel series will follow in the aftermath of season 1, which laid the groundwork for the war between The Blacks, led by Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy), and The Greens, led by Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke). Many of the cast from that season are returning, with more faces promised by HBO, including the endlessly hyped-up Lord of Winterfell, Cregan Stark, who will be played by Tom Taylor (The Dark Tower, Doctor Foster).

There's no release date for the season premiere just yet, but it's been teased for summer 2024.
