It seems only fitting that the making of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw would be a family affair.

In an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, Ata Johnson, mother of Dwayne Johnson, speaks about her experience visiting the set for the film's climactic third act — which is stepped in her family's Samoan culture.

"His Samoan side is very strong because I kept it strong," she says. "That's why I get very emotional when I'm watching these scenes, you know?"

Dwayne Johnson seemed equally thrilled to have her there. "Over the years, my mom has been my biggest fan," he gushed. "So it was such a joy to have my mom on this particular set because she knew that we were showcasing our culture and our island of Samoa."

And, not for nothing, he's excited that the scene represents something fairly unusual for a big-budget blockbuster in 2019.

"You know, another cool aspect about Hobbs & Shaw is, I have waited my entire career to have fight scenes like this," he says. "Raging and savage and primal — without guns."

Hobbs & Shaw hits Digital HD Oct. 15 and Blu-ray and DVD Nov. 5.
