Sarah Paulson in horror mode is the kind of unnerving perfection worth marking your calendar for. And in the trailer for Hold Your Breath, her next biggest threat hides in the Oklahoma dust.

In a deeply effective first look, the film's trailer teases Paulson as a woman haunted by a menacing presence in the raging dust storms around her family's home. It's set in the 1930s, during Oklahoma's devastating, drought-savaged Dust Bowl period. But amid the swirling, barren chaos, a sinister figure known as "The Drifter" lurks.

The Bear's Ebon Moss-Bachrach also stars, alongside Amiah Miller, Alona Jane Robbins, and Annaleigh Ashford. Directed by Karrie Crouse and William Joines, and written by Crouse, the film will hit Hulu for the Halloween horror season.

Hold Your Breath premieres Oct. 3 on Hulu.
