As Ser Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) tells Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) in the House of the Dragon Season 2 "weeks ahead" trailer above, "We have given the war to the dragons." And based on the footage of what's next, that certainly seems to be the case.

Episode 1 ended with a truly unpleasant assassination-attempt-gone-wrong, and the trailer teases the fallout from that: an inevitable escalation to violence.

Like most House of the Dragon trailers the clips are brief and don't give away too much — but we do see dragons on the battlefield, tension between King Aegon II (Tom Glynn Carney) and Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) as well as Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Daemon (Matt Smith), and a few glorious shots of Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) looking moody.

For more analysis of the first episode, why not read more about what Larys Strong is planning, which houses are declaring for Team Green and Team Black so far, and a breakdown of those shiny new opening credits.
