Given the popularity of food horror these days, it was probably just a matter of time before someone looked at the reality cooking show format and thought, "OK, but what if we make it a bit creepy?"
With its "Let's play a little game" intro and Black Mirror-style animated chef's hat mascot, Secret Chef is here to do just that. Contestants wake up in their own little cooking pods, and the twist is they have to cook in secret and then judge each other anonymously using secret codenames while the all-seeing CGI hat feeds them instructions.
On the plus side, there is a $100,000 prize to sweeten the deal.
Secret Chef is streaming on Hulu from June 29.
