American wizards and witches, get ready for a history lesson.

J.K. Rowling has revealed a detailed origin story for Ilvermorny, the American school of magic that stands atop Mount Greylock in Massachusetts. On Pottermore, she's shared a lengthy tale of how the school came to be, and it's all because of an Irish girl named Isolt Sayre, born around 1603.

There's also a new featurette that gives fans a quick rundown of the school's wild past and origin, and how it all began with "a unique, stolen wand."

"If these walls could talk, they would tell you a tale of loyalty, revenge and a love that gave it life," the narrator says.

Fans can also find out which Ilvermorny house -- the Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird and Pukwudgie -- they belong to on Pottermore.
