Umbrellium, a UK team of urban technologists, was commissioned by Direct Line, Saatchi & Saatchi London, and Mischief PR to create a responsive pedestrian crossing. Powered by computer vision and LEDs, this smart crosswalk is able to track everything that is happening on the road and adapt its LED surface accordingly.

It has the potential to even warn people distracted by their phones or reduce the blind spots of drivers by displaying the anticipated route of passengers moving unexpectedly.
