Thanksgiving is celebrated as a national holiday in the United States. But international curiosity for the tradition spreads far and wide, particularly regarding the meal served on the day.
And the world is right to be intrigued. Thanksgiving foods are undeniably delicious as these Irish folks found out when they sampled a handful of favorites.
The butternut squash soup was a smash hit. The scalloped potatoes garnered respect. The turkey & cornbread stuffing with cranberry sauce were eloquently described as "a season in your mouth." And who doesn't agree that the filling in pecan pie is definitely better than the crust?
Comments on the spice roasted carrots, however, turned controversial: "There's not much difference here than your carrots, America, to ours. Tastes the exact same. Except you took a carrot and made him president!"
To be fair, it wouldn't be a proper Thanksgiving without politicizing something. Might as well be the carrots.
