Stop giving Jackie Chan police roles, he wants to sing!

Jackie Chan went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his new film The Foreigner. He discussed his extraordinary career, and also shared stories from his equally extraordinary childhood.

From age 7 Chan was enrolled at the incredibly rigorous China Drama Academy, part of the Peking Opera School. As a child he learned to sing, to fight, and to run holding a full cup of tea without spilling it.

Then the conversation turned to the news of Rush Hour 4, but Chan admitted he's a bit sick of being offered roles as policemen. "Can I have something different like Mamma Mia!" or "La La Land" he exclaimed. Given his singing training as a kid he'd probably be a dab hand as musicals.

Chan wanted the viewers to know "I'm an actor who can fight, not a fighter who can act," something which is apparently demonstrated in his new drama The Foreigner where Chan plays a man whose daughter is murdered.

We can't wait for someone to offer Chan the chance to show off his musical chops. Just a shot in the dark, but he'd probably be great at choreography too.
