This isn't the first time Jake Gyllenhaal's been scared on Ellen's show, and we're betting it probably won't be the last.
To make this one even worst, Ellen actually spent the first half of the show discussing the previous occasion they'd managed to make Gyllenhaal jump.
Then she lulled him into a false sense of security with a guitar and some singing, only to repeat the entire ordeal again.
Gyllenhaal will not be following Ellen on Instagram anytime soon.
