For your average grumpy and socially awkward British person, the phrase "Secret Santa" is something to be feared above all else.

Because it's just such a minefield, isn't it? There's the quandary of whether or not to go for a humorous gift and how much to spend. That's before you've even get on to the present-opening bit where everyone stands around clapping and any microscopic signs of disappointment are magnified ten-fold.

In the sketch above, which sees The Late Late Show staff exchanging their Secret Santa gifts, James Corden perfectly nails the cringe-factor.
