By the time 2016 is over, James Corden will have dueted his way around the entire pop world.

Just a few days ago he was busting out hits alongside The Backstreet Boys, and now he's taking on Shawn Mendes in an intense 90s v. modern music style sing-off.

Luckily, the two eventually decide to put their differences aside for the greater good.

"Maybe there is a world in which music then and music today can exist together," says Corden, his hand on Mendes' shoulder. "And we could... make that happen right now in one incredible moment."

And boy, is it incredible.
