Across the globe, a massive number of couples are being forced to cancel their wedding plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.
James Corden's script supervisor Joe and his fiancée Isabella are two people in that exact situation — and during Tuesday's edition of The Late Late Show, the host decided to cheer them up with a surprise.
Both are apparently huge baseball fans (Joe supports the Yankees, while Isabella is all about the Red Sox), so each got a video message from a player from their respective teams — along with the promise of top-of-the-range tickets when the games are back on.
And to finish? A socially-distanced Italian meal outside their apartment, complete with a mask-wearing accordion player. Lovely.
