Before Jason Momoa takes to the cinematic seas as DC Comics superhero Aquaman in Justice League later this year, the Game of Thrones alum is tackling a role that looks every bit as bloody and badass as his stint as a Dothraki warlord in the HBO hit.

Momoa is the star of Netflix's new period drama Frontier, which debuts on the streaming network on Jan. 20. In it, he plays Declan Harp, an outlaw vying for a piece of North America's lucrative fur trade in the 1700s, when the Hudson's Bay Company had the monopoly on the region.
