"Yesterday our president Donald Trump gave himself a 10 out of 10 for the way he's handled this situation," said Jimmy Kimmel from his home office on Tuesday. "Gave himself a 10. Which, incidentally, is the same amount of testing kits that are currently available in the United States right now."
Late night show hosts may be delivering their monologues from home for the foreseeable future, as the coronavirus shuts down production and turns everyone into sudden, involuntary hermits. This includes Kimmel, who hid from his children in order to record a quick six-minute video.
"Thank god for television," said Kimmel. "My blood type now is Disney Positive, or Disney Plus, whatever they call it."
Kimmel pledged to record daily monologues until production on Jimmy Kimmel Live resumes. He also committed to donating to a different cause each day, starting with No Kid Hungry.
"Really the only way we're gonna to get through this is by sticking together while of course remaining at a CDC-approved distance of at least six feet apart," said Kimmel.
