In the wake of the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, over the weekend, Jimmy Kimmel did not hold back in calling out the responses from President Trump and the rest of the Republican party.

Kimmel notes that 49 Republican members of congress refused to go on CNN to talk about the shootings. He also specifically calls out Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell over his previous inaction on gun control legislation.

Kimmel points out that McConnell blocked the vote on two bipartisan bills that would require gun owners to have background checks, despite the fact that 97 percent of people who live in a household with firearms support universal background checks.

"We agree on something for a change. We agree that he needs to drag his boney, grey ass back into work on these bills," Kimmel said.

The late show host also highlights Trump's bizarre and unresponsive reaction to the tragedy, ignoring the shootings while tweeting about A$AP Rocky and posing with UFC fighter Colby Covington over the weekend.

When Trump finally did make a public statement, he misidentified the city where the shootings took place.

"Nice work Don Burgundy, you're doing great."
