Netflix's 'JIVA!' series trailer vies for the title of your new favourite dance drama

You've got to love a dance drama, and Netflix's latest series will have you up out of your seat.

Created by showrunner Busisiwe Ntintili (Intersexions and Happiness is a Four Letter Word), JIVA! hinges around dancer Ntombi (Noxolo Dlamini), who juggles working at a cheesy marine park and taking care of her family in Umlazi, Durban in South Africa.

As the fifth annual Jiva Loxion Dance Competition looms, Ntombi gathers her friends to practice hard and compete for the title. But there's more than a few hurdles in her way, one being the classic ex conundrum, as the trailer indicates. And as you'd imagine, there are a lot of major dancing scenes in this video all set to a massive soundtrack.

Directed by Scottnes L. Smith, Mandla Dube, and Mmambatho Montsho, JIVA! stars Candice Modiselle, Sne Mbatha, Stella Dlangalala, Zazi Kunene, Anga Makubalo, Given Stuurman, Ntuthuzelo Grootboom, Zamani Mbatha, and Tony Kgoroge.

JIVA! lands on Netflix on June 24.
