Sliding into someone's DMs doesn't necessarily come from a place of horniness. It can also be used to privately inform someone that you admire their work. To be honest, perhaps we should focus more on the latter than the former.

Killing Eve star Jodie Comer is no stranger to the old DM slide. In a British Vogue video — to coincide with her appearance on the cover of the April issue of British Vogue — she talked about the last time she cheekily dropped into someone's inbox.

"The last time I really slid into someone's DMs: Aimee Lou Wood off Sex Education because I watched the first series and was completely obsessed with her so I felt that I needed to tell her I loved her," said Comer.

We support this DM slide wholeheartedly. We love Aimee too.
