If someone were to mention a right-wing, American news organisation that occasionally dabbles in coronavirus misinformation, your first thought might well be Fox News.

But apparently, there's one growing outlet that's even more extreme.

Introducing One America News Network (OAN), something described by John Oliver as both "an Anchorman-esque parody of right-wing news" and "Fox News with even less shame, and even fewer scruples."

For the latest Last Week Tonight episode, Oliver breaks down exactly why OAN is so dangerous — from the extreme views of its hosts to their growing popularity with the Trump administration.

"The kind of misinformation OAN is spewing right now could end up getting people killed," concludes Oliver. "And sadly, their message is being actively spread by the White House. So it is more important than ever to be on the lookout for OAN's bullshit — and to make sure no one that you know is falling for it either."
