John Oliver offers a touching message about the Orlando shooting

Before Last Week Tonight on Sunday, John Oliver delivered a message of hope and solidarity for victims of the Orlando shooting.

"Right now this just hurts. And the worst thing is, this pain is so familiar," he said adding, "in Orlando early this morning a gunman attacked a Latin night at a gay club in the theme park capital of the world...I will happily embrace a Latin night at a gay club in the theme park capital of the world as the ultimate symbol of what is truly wonderful about America.”

Oliver noted the thousands of people lining up in Florida, and everywhere, to give blood for victims of the attack. "It kind of reminds you that that dipsh*t terrorist is vastly outnumbered," he said.

At the end of his address, he apologized for doing "a stupid show" in light of the attacks. However, laughter can be the most healing thing during a tragedy.
