Jon Stewart is a little bit confused by the Fox News reaction to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this week. Has the event had too much joy in it, or not enough joy?

To start with, in his Daily Show monologue above, Stewart plays a clip of anchor Jesse Watters calling a scene from the convention "boring".

"Ooh, so boring," says Stewart. "I forgot your life is a never-ending joy ride of talking to Brit Hume in between catheter ads on Fox. Ooh, you're a mad man."

Later in the week, though, even with other Fox reporters reluctantly admitting the DNC was going well, Stewart plays another clip of Watters saying the night before "felt like a funeral", even as cheery footage replayed by Fox seemed to directly contradict him.

"Yeah, yeah," says Stewart, "last night felt like a funeral. We all know funerals always have a DJ."
