Two branches of the Karate Kid franchise intertwine in the upcoming Karate Kid: Legends.
The film stars Ralph Macchio as original Karate Kid (and Cobra Kai sensei) Daniel LaRusso, as well as Jackie Chan as the formidable Mr. Han from the 2010 remake. The two join forces to mentor kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang).
Much of the new Karate Kid: Legends trailer focuses on Li, who’s just moved to New York City with his mother. While he finds a new friend at his prestigious school, he also draws the ire of a bully who also happens to be - what else? - a local karate champion.
As Li sets out to take down his bully and conquer the Five Boroughs karate tournament, Mr. Han recruits Daniel from California to help him train Li. Together, the pair hope to blend their fighting styles and unleash a new karate legend. Grueling training and epic fights ensue.
Karate Kid: Legends also stars also stars Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen.
