Kate Winslet narrates trailer for documentary about the global impact of what we eat
Watch Next

Watching a documentary about what we've done and keep doing to our planet is never an easy experience, but it's a necessary one.

Narrated and executive produced by Kate Winslet, Eating Our Way to Extinction traces the impact of the food we eat on our planet. It's often referred to in documentaries like Cowspiracy as the topic no one really wants to talk about: the destructive impact animal agriculture, commercial overfishing, and unsustainable production has on the planet, the amount of natural resources and habitats it devours, and the role it plays in global warming.

Directors Otto and Ludovic Brockway promise to examine this, alongside interviews with industry leaders and academics, celebrity commentators, and most importantly, local communities. The trailer makes it look like quite a catch-all documentary, using many of the same type of shots and not-so-new truths we've unfortunately seen in other environmental documentaries, so hopefully we'll get a more focused look when the film is out.

Eating Our Way to Extinction is set for release in select cinemas in September (date TBC).
