Kesha addresses legal battle in stirring Human Rights Campaign speech

Kesha delivered a tearful speech while accepting an award from the Human Rights Campaign last weekend.

The singer received the Visibility Award for her work with the LGBT community on March 5 and gave a stirring thank you speech, also addressing her current legal battles. She was recently denied a request for a temporary injunction to free her from her Sony contract. She alleges that producer Dr. Luke sexually assaulted her.

"I'm going through some personal things that have been really intense and hard lately," Kesha said. "I just want to say thank you for any support I've received."

The bulk of the singer's HRC speech focused on her work with the LGBT community -- and how to beat laws that would deprive members of that community of human rights. We "will not accept sexist double standards anymore," Kesha said.

"We have the power and we can force change," she continued. "You're all beautiful just as you are."
