Bob Saget, the much-beloved comedian and television dad, died unexpectedly on Sunday at the age of 65. Tributes poured in for the Full House star, as the world recalled his professionalism, persona and presence.
Jimmy Kimmel was amongst those to honor Saget. The Jimmy Kimmel Live host delivered a deeply emotional monologue on his show before the audience joined the studio for the taping, an amalgamation of shared memories and simply speaking about how special Saget was. Kimmel visibly choked up often as he spoke, telling the camera, "I'm sorry, I taped this like fourteen times."
The host shared an email Saget sent him, in an exchange about their children and their love for them.
"He was very kind to everyone and he had no problem telling you that he loved you and what you meant to him," Kimmel said.
Kimmel also urged viewers to donate to the Scleroderma Research Foundation in Saget's memory. Saget lost his sister to the disease and was devoted to supporting the fight against the battle.
"If you want to remember him, there's nothing he would appreciate more."
