7 years later, 'The Last Guardian' finally has a release date

The beautiful world of part-bird, part-dog, part-cat Trico is coming into focus.

We're finally going to the story of a young boy and his gigantic monstrous friend.

Sony showed a polished trailer for The Last Guardian at its E3 press conference Monday. We saw more scenes of the unnamed young boy, and his monster friend Trico, a half-bird, half-cat, half-dog creature. The game was originally announced in 2009, but went into a development hiatus for several years; it was re-announced at E3 last year.

The Last Guardian is coming to the PlayStation 4 on October 25.
