There was a time when slime was all the rage. Laura Dern's household is no stranger to that craze. In fact, her daughter became obsessed with slime.

"Slime took over the house, it got in the dog's fur, it was all over the furniture, it was a whole thing," the Big Little Lies star told The Late Late Show guest host Melissa McCarthy. But Dern grew concerned that she and her daughter were dedicating so much time to making slime.

"Jaya, we could learn French with all this time, we could travel the world, we could save the environment," she said.

While scrolling through slime videos with her daughter, Dern stumbled on a Tiny Kitchen video. For people not familiar, Tiny Kitchen is a YouTube channel which, as the name suggests, shows miniature food being prepared and it's utterly charming to watch.

"Is that a tiny meatball? And I was gone. My children for probably six months. I've never been so excited in my life," said Dern.

"Little tiny hands make tiny miniature food," she added. "It's the best thing that ever happened."
