Late night show host Lilly Singh wants to cheer up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau with a gift basket made just for him.

In a little section she likes to call "Gift Basket," Singh wants to lend a hand those who've had a bit of a hard time. That includes Trudeau, who's been under the spotlight after his widely publicised brownface controversy, in which Time published a racist 2001 yearbook photo showing Trudeau had darkened his skin with makeup for an Aladdin costume at an "Arabian Nights" themed party.

"Don't worry, Trudeau. We've got a gift basket for you!" said Singh on Monday's A Little Late. "In your gift basket you will find a box of facial wipes to help you wipe the fake colour and embarrassment off your face."

Nope, that's not all. This is a gift basket! How about a new device, ready to go?

"Next, here's a new phone. Now, with all the backlash you probably need a new number, so I took the liberty of pre-setting all your emojis to the whitest skin tone available," she quipped.

Throw in a brown coloured crayon "so if you're going to do brownface at least you can get the colour right next time," and a handy reference picture of Aladdin himself.

"I guess you do look a lot like Aladdin in that picture, you know, if Aladdin were also doing blackface."
