Luke Cage is going to war.

In a new trailer for Netlix's latest Marvel show Harlem's reluctant hero faces off against a man who will do anything for power -- to gain it, and to keep it.

"Harlem's about control, power," says self-proclaimed king Cornell Stokes (Mahershala Ali). With a little prompting from Claire (Rosario Dawson), Luke might be ready to fight back -- to take the king's rooks, knights and queen until he has no players left on the board.

"There is nothing that can hurt you, so what the hell are you afraid of?" Claire urges. Even so, Luke's enemies try pretty damn hard to hurt him, even if it only makes holes in his hoodie.

"You find his weakness, and you squeeze," Mariah (Alfre Woodard) tells Stokes.

Uh-oh.

Luke Cage premieres on Netflix Sept. 30.
