One day you're working your regular nine to five job, the next day you're the head of a mafia empire in Italy.

That's the entertainingly ridiculous premise for Catherine Hardwick's Mafia Mamma, which sees Kristin (Toni Collette) jumping on a flight at the news of her grandfather's death, only to discover he's passing his criminal business on to her.

Luckily Bianca (Monica Bellucci) is there to guide her through the ensuing mayhem.

Mafia Mamma is in cinemas April 13.
