Maggie Gyllenhaal's character in The Deuce, sex worker-turned-porn producer Candy, is a pretty confident director on set.

Gyllenhaal told Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show' that Candy had inspired her to do her first directing project, an upcoming movie based on Elena Ferrante's 'The Lost Daughter'

"I was in some ways inspired by Candy," Gyllenhaal said.
