Watch Mark Hamill 'use the Force', Original Trilogy style

A long time ago, in a galaxy without CGI, George Lucas and company made the original Star Wars trilogy.

And as Mark Hamill described on The Graham Norton Show this week, the films' special effects showed some real ingenuity. He used a scene from The Empire Strikes Back in which Luke Skywalker used the Force to retrieve his lightsaber as an example:

"For instance, when I was hanging upside down in the Wampa cave, they had fishing wire attached to [the lightsaber] and pulled it out of my hand and then just reversed the film.

"Now they CGI it and spend way too much money," he added.

To finish the delightful segment, Hamill demonstrated the move with an orange. Graham Norton then played the footage backwards and, hey, that sure looks like the Force to us.
