Marshawn Lynch doesn't speak to media much, so when he does, it probably means whatever he's going to say is going to be important.

The retired Seattle Seahawks running back opened up to Conan O'Brien about former rival San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's controversial protest of the national anthem.

"I'd rather see him take a knee than stand up and put his hands up and get murdered," Lynch said, standing up with his arms up. "If you're really not racist, then you won't see what he's doing as a threat to America, just addressing the problems that we have."

"Alright, I'm with you on that," O'Brien chimed in.
