Anyone whose ever stood at a urinal will know that it's the absolute last place you want to make small-talk with a stranger.

This goes double for celebrities.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Martin Freeman and Will Smith discussed the awkwardness of toilet-based fan encounters.

Helen Mirren even chipped in with her own experience of being recognised in toilet queues, and the ripple effect that comes from being stuck in a line of people.

"Then word goes out and now you're having a conversation with this whole queue of people, all the time slowly moving towards the cabinet that's empty -- and then knowing that everybody's going to be listening," she said.
