Marvel is rolling out a royal reception for their newest leading superhero. And by "royal reception," we mean a really, really good first trailer.

Black Panther picks up shortly after Captain America: Civil War left off, with T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returning to Wakanda to take his father's place as king.

But there's no movie if the transition is easy and his reign uneventful – so naturally, an old enemy resurfaces to raise some hell. Good thing he's got some ride-or-die allies on his side, including the all-female warrior corps known as the Dora Milaje.

Black Panther boasts a stacked cast, even by MCU standards. Besides Boseman, we can look forward to seeing Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

The guy behind the camera is no slouch, either. Black Panther is being directed by Ryan Coogler, who last gave us the incredible Rocky sequel/spinoff Creed.

All in all, Black Panther has all the makings of Marvel's next big smash hit. Our only complaint is that February 16 can't get here fast enough.
