20 minutes of 'Marvel's Avengers' gameplay finally hits the internet

If you've been wondering what the deal is with Marvel's Avengers since publisher Square Enix lifted the lid on the 2020 game at E3 2019, here's your first official opportunity to see it from home.

The above video serves up almost 20 minutes of footage from what appears to be the game's intro mission. It's the same material Square Enix showed off behind closed doors at E3, with different sections highlighting how each of Earth's Mightiest Heroes fights to save the day.

As Mashable learned at E3 in an interview with the game's creative director, the finished game will have more of an open-ended, build-out-your-own-Avenger kind of approach. Those RPG elements aren't really in evidence here, but the action is definitely front-and-center.

Marvel's Avengers will be out on May 15, 2020.
